Our clients are into their second season contract milking on this large farm near Palmerston North. They are running 1500 cows through a modern 60 bale rotary (ACR’s). This is a well run farm on mainly flat contour.They are seeking an enthusiastic 2IC who wants to meet new challenges such as working on a high input farm with large stock numbers and a high level of accountability. You will work with a very successful contract milker (who has been a previous Dairy Business of the Year Supreme Award winner). This a great opportunity to learn from someone who knows how to get the best out of pasture and herd.This is a role where you will truly get the opportunity to take full 2IC responsibilities and work closely with the Contract Milker in optimizing the farms potential.We are seeking candidates with a strong 2IC background or a solid Senior Herd Manager who feels they are ready to step up.  You will need to be confident in your decision making, however also with the ability to take instruction.  You will also have excellent time management and communication skills.  Most importantly, you will be confident in your staff management abilities and will genuinely enjoy leading a large team.  We are seeking someone who likes to lead from the front, with the ability to motivate a team towards common goals.A safe work environment is taken very seriously by our client, therefore you will need to have a clear criminal and drug history to be considered.
