Herd Manager (880345) – Great outdoor location

A chance to experience working in a great outdoor adventure spot in the heart of the top of the South Island in Murchison.  Our client runs a large dairy farm and is seeking a Herd Manager to join their team. You will have at least 2 years dairy experience and a genuine interest in working with animals in the outdoors.  You will be eager to learn and prepared to roll your sleeves up and 'get stuck in'.  This is a busy farm so you can expect to work 10 - 12 hours per day.  With an hourly rate on offer, the more you work the more you earn.Your daily duties will involve milking (within a modern 60 bale rotary shed, moving cows, assisting with calf rearing and general farm tasks. Training provided - if you have a working dog that’s even better.Our client fosters a great team environment and provides a good roster ( 6 days on / 2 days off) as well as one hot cooked meal a day. Accommodation is shared in a 3 bedroom house.  Sky, WiFi and power will be provided free.This is a great opportunity for those seeking to step up in dairy farming.
