From 3 November 2025, Immigration New Zealand will add 91 new skill level 1–3 occupations to the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) system. As a result, new opportunities are opening up for skilled tradespeople, technicians, and agricultural workers, and accredited employers will find it easier to bring skilled migrant staff to New Zealand.
What this means for workers
If your occupation is included in the new list, you could qualify for an AEWV of up to 5 years, and you may be able to bring your partner or children with you on dependent visas.
Already on a skill level 4-5 visa? You may be able to transition into one of these new roles if you have at least 3 years of relevant work experience or a recognized qualification, extending your visa by up to 2 years.

What employers need to know
From 3 November 2025, accredited employers will be able to submit Job Checks for any of the 91 new roles. Before doing so, it’s important to ensure:
- The role has been advertised correctly.
- The job description and pay rate match the new NOL skill level.
