Mechanical Engineer for Manawatu!

The company is located in Manawatu-Whanganui region and has two operational sites around the area. 

We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Mechanical Engineer to join the WPI team at the sawmill. This is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to base themselves in or around the stunning region, spend time exploring the pure outdoors away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and to make a difference in a varied role within an organisation committed to continuous improvement. 

About you

To be successful in this role you will have.

• Bachelor of Engineering (mechanical) preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Engineer
• Experience in a large, industrial manufacturing or processing plant.
• Dmonstrated ability to introduce, manage and / or maintain site assets through continuous improvement efforts on a situational, systemic, and strategic level.
• Able to troubleshoot and diagnose breakdowns to identify root causes and implement effective solution.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a ‘can do’ attitude.
• Strong health and safety focus and ability to work in an organised and disciplined way.
• Current driver’s license (Restricted at minimum) and personal transport to get to and from work.
