Job Details

Responsibilities:Complete the following tasks whilst meeting our quality and production output targets:Check all sheds for water and feed at least four times per dayCheck each shed for dead birds and remove dailyEnsure Daily Check sheets are completedEnsure Weekly reporting is completedPerform general farm maintenance duties as requiredAssist manure truck driver when required.Assist with culling as requiredKeep sheds clean: roof, walls, floors and service roomsShift chickens as required. Includes rotations, baby chickens, cullingKeep egg elevators clean and clear from foreign materialKeep all egg belts clean, egg belt cleaning brushes clean and egg chain conveyors cleanRemove rubbish from farm and dispose ofKeep grounds tidy and weed free and lawns mowedAssist with unloading of supply trucksProvide assistance with all other farm projects as requiredAttend Staff Meetings as requiredSweep all sheds twice weekly putting the sweepings on the manure beltsHand sweep both ends of sheds dailyClean egg lifters and motors weekly (with air)Attend to feed overflows, water leaks and abnormal noises coming from equipment and report to your Manager if unable to fixAny other duties as requested by your Farm Manager.We are looking for someone who: A good level of fitness – lifting is required, and you will be on your feet all dayUnderstand the importance of reliability when working as part of a teamEnjoy working as part of a team to get tasks done efficiently and correctlyHave good attention to detailBe able to work in a fast-paced environment – we need our staff to move quickly and think quicklyTake pride in the product that goes to our customers everydayA reasonable mechanical aptitudeBe able to speak and understand using the English languageNote: You will be required to comply with the strict bio-security regulations within the poultry industry which includes not having any birds, pigs or chickens at your place of residence or contact with any farm animals within the last 48hrs. 30 AUD New Zealand - NZ Wellington Rest of Wellington Region Masterton 5810
